2018: A Year in Review

 

What a year! For CH, it’s been one of exponential growth.

Before ushering in 2019, we’re reviewing some of the events, celebrations, and achievements of the last twelve months:

January

  • We started the year with an organisational total of €250 million in facilities provided.

  • The team consisted of 7 staff members, including our founders, Will and Clark.

  • CH is published in the Irish Times for making €100 million available for social housing development in 2018.

February

  • Due to our growing numbers, CH moved to new offices in the South Block of the Rockfield Central building in Dundrum.

  • Niall Maloney joined the team as Credit Analyst.

  • We agreed to fund a folio of projects for a new CH client. The collection consists of six properties in and around Dublin, backed by €13.3 million in facilities provided.


March

  • The month began with an office closure due to snow—the Beast from the East didn’t miss us!

  • We officially closed on our first deal for development in Galway.

  • Cathy Courtney started as our new office manager and Gemma Wright moved to the credit team.


April


May

  • One of our Business Development managers, Conor Feeney, was invited to speak at the National Construction Summit. He represented Castlehaven well, delivering riveting content on alternative lending to a rapt audience!

  • Both Lynn Hanly and Diarmuid McArdle became part of the CH family in May, as Senior Credit Manager and Business Development, respectively.


June


July

  • The team hit the races again, this time in Galway. It was rumoured we had a few winners in our ranks!

  • CH closed on two significant deals this summer. The first will finance the development of 48 apartments in Mount Merrion, while the second will fund construction of 41 apartments on the coast in Raheny.



August

  • We celebrated summer with a team BBQ—a brilliant time at The Odeon in Dublin with the CH gang.

  • We closed on another deal in Galway. This loan was the West’s largest sum yet, coming in at €8.1 million.


September

  • Castlehaven turned 4 years old! We were founded by Clark McCann and Will Aylmer in 2014. Read more about our history.

  • CH closed on its largest loan to date: €21.35 million for a housing development on Swords Road.


October

  • Partner Clark McCann was invited to speak on the CREFC panel. He offered unique insight into the world of alternative lending.

  • Siddesh Kotian joined our ranks, bringing us to a total of 14 staff members—double the size of the team in January!

  • CH closed on a deal to finance Bloomfield House, a development of refurbished Georgian buildings in Donnybrook, Dublin 4.


November


December

  • CH officially exceeded €500 million in facilities provided! What a monumental achievement for our team.

  • We celebrated the year’s accomplishments at the Castlehaven Christmas Party 2018 in the Iveagh Garden Hotel. It was a smashing evening and great to see so many clients, colleagues, and friends.


As 2018 draws to a close, we can’t help but feel proud of the year it’s been for Castlehaven Finance. Much of our success is thanks to our wonderful partners in business—you know who you are. Thank you for making this a year worth remembering! We’re looking forward to 2019 in anticipation of even more excellent opportunities and achievements to come.
